Internet telephony is also known as Broadband phone, IP Telephony and Voice over Broadband, but is most commonly referred to as VoIP.

For businesses it can be a very attractive propsition as the cost savings in using VoIP can be significant when compared with traditional telephony. In order to appreciate just how significant those savings can be, you might be well advised to check out a VoIP comparison site.

VoIP to VoIP phone calls may even be free with many VoIP providers, but most will charge a nominal fee for VoIP to PSTN (traditional telephony) lines. Be sure to check the prices of the various providers before you select one.

Selecting a provider, especially for a business rollout of VoIP, is something that is quite important. Internet telephony is not yet perfect so make sure you know about the price, customer service and line quality of the VoIP package that you select. Some of the bigger players worth checking out are 1TouchTone and Sun Rocket. Check out some reviews of those companies here and here.

Internet telephony can be a godsend for cost conscious small businesses as long as a little bit of research is done first.

Technorati Tags: voip, ip telephony, broadband telephony

World's First globalwarming awareness2007 seo world championship

This year the SEO community is experiencing some major globalization especially after the mother of all SEO contests was born! The first SEO World Championship began on Jan 15th 2007. The goal is to achieve the highest ranking on the tree major search engines for the keyword globalwarming awareness2007.

The last few years a new division of computer science and especially in the website development world emerged - the so called SEO Search Engine Optimization field. This area of studies covers search engine algorithms on how they rank website content into their search results/index. Immediately small groups of web developers started competing with each other but most of the competitions were limited to few people. For the first time this year a Web Development company is Sweden decided to organize a SEO contest on global scale and try to attract as many as possible seo experts promising pretty attractive awards.

The SEO World Championship was started this January 15th at noon. All participants were required to register new domain name and not to use their old "aged" domains. This requirement gave a clear start to all contestants and made this SEO competition a bit more interesting than others having more or less equal starting point.

In less than a week or so the first globalwarming awareness2007 results popped out on the search engine indexes and amazingly the count increased exponentially every passing week. Currently after only fifteen days Google shows more than 1,320,000 pages which is quite more than even the wildest prediction. The French SEO teams are running nearly wild and are generating awesome amount of content each day. The UK team is also very well and is currently ranked and is N:1 on Google. The New York Psionic-Studios team (my team) is not really nicely ranked still in the low 300s.

The First SEO world championships are still in very early phase and there is still time for other people to enter the competition so if you are interested check it out and get your hands dirty.

Today is the deadline for the Austin Music Poll. My friend Kay sent out the following appeal to her friends to vote. She is a big fan of The Band of Heathens and so is pushing them. However, the sentiments expressed reflect the appreciation that our great city has for our musicians. Folks who live in Austin, Texas are the luckiest group of people in the world to have the amazing talent we have playing any night of the week down the street. Besides her recommendations, check out:

Guy Forsyth

Wendy Colonna

Patrice Pike

Eliza Gilkyson

Marcia Ball

John D.
